Niadyne Pharma, Inc. is an academically derived pharmaceutical development company that
was founded in 1998 under the company name Niadyne. At that time, the scientific co-founders, Elaine and Myron Jacobson were members
of the faculty at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky, and the Company was located in the Advanced Science and Technology
Center (AsTeCC) located on the campus of the University of Kentucky. Niadyne moved to Tucson, Arizona in 2000 coincident with the
Jacobsons joining the faculty of the University of Arizona. Niadyne was involved in the development of both consumer (cosmeceutical)
and pharmaceutical skin care products and launched its first set of consumer products in 2003. Niadyne has been funded by several
rounds of fund raising, by successful competition for Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grants from the National Institutes
of Health (NIH) and by numerous academic research grants to the Jacobsons. In 2005, Niadyne was divided into 2 separate companies,
Niadyne for development of consumer products, and Niadyne Pharma (NPI) for development of pharmaceutical products.
